Adobe to release a free version of Photoshop but will anyone care?

Adobe has an open beta going now for Photoshop Express but I don't think anyone is really going to care.  Maybe I'm wrong here, but I usually just turn to The Gimp if I need to do any graphic man handling.  Photoshop Express is really geared to photo touch ups, etc.  Will I download it, sure.  I will put it on my todo list and let you know what I think.

Mac Book Air Compromised in less than 30 minutes

Just caught this article over on Security Focus.  It seems that during a contest one of the participants compromised a Mac Book Air using a bug in Safari.  The cool thing is that he won $10K and the Mac Book Air he compromised.

"..Vancouver, CANADA -- In the first attempted attack in the PWN2OWN contest, a security analyst breached the defenses of Apple's Mac OS X using a bug in the Safari browser and won $10,000 as well as the computer that he compromised...."

As the Mac's gain in popularity things like this will happen more often.  Now, this isn't a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination.  But the interesting thing will be how quickly Apple responds with patches.  I'll keep watching and waiting.

Windows Machines get a hot Safari Injection....Yeah, I'm not happy either

If you have read my posts you would think that I've become a regular fanboy of Apple. But after seeing what has happened with iTunes and the move to force feed Windows users a big serving of Safari, made me pause for a second and take notice.

I don't like having random stuff installed on my machines, even my two lonely XP boxes. This is not a cool move. I have tried to use Safari but I find that it comes up a little short in the heavy Java script based websites. I have also found that some media that's embedded in sites doesn't quit work either. The page layouts are broken at times. Currently I'm using FireFox and Safari. I usually try Safari first and then FireFox if something isn't working right.

We all bitch about Microsoft and bloatware on Windows and now Apple just pulled this. It's like Microsoft forcing you to install Internet Explorer on your Mac when you install Office. Of course I don't know, I'm using iWork but hey who's keeping score here.

HOT GIRLS

I have yet to figure out how BlogRush Syndication works or what makes something Hot or Not. So, I'm trying this with the title of my post. Let's see how HOT I can make this syndication by referencing HOT GIRLS.

I'll let you know. I would love to know what other recommend for Blog Syndication.

Hilton Head

Hilton Head is great and the class has been great. Unfortunately, the class runs from 7:30am until 5:30pm. Which leaves no time to do anything else. Plus, the Hilton here is Hurricane proof so WiFi and Cell Phone is really touch and go.

Anyway, everything is good. Should be back on Sunday.

Just a thought

"The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help them or concluded that you do not care." - Colin Powell

Apple Juice Part 2

I did it and I'm not ashamed.  My wife wanted a MacAir and we bought here one.  I purchased a Dell Inspiron last year and I even added more memory taking it from 1 Gig to 1.5 Gigs.  But the combination of Vista and Office 2008 became unbearable for her.  I let her use my MacBook a couple of times and after she saw the Air she wanted one.

I moved her e-mail from Outlook to MacMail using a $10 (yes, ten buck) utility from LittleMachines.com called O2M and it worked like a charm.

I shared out my DVD drive on my MacBook and did the install of iWork from there.  The Apple File System seems to be very fast over a network.
